Military court continues trials of prisoners accused of killing, torturing prisoners

SANA'A, May. 28 (Saba) - The 5th Military District Court held its sixth public hearing on Saturday in Sana'a to try those accused of executing and torturing 11 army prisoners on the West Coast, accused Brigadier General Tariq Mohammed Abdullah Saleh al-Ahmar and others.

At the hearing, which was attended by the victims' blood parents, their lawyers and lawyers for accused fugitives, lawyers' responses to the accused fleeing justice were heard.

The Central Military District Court held its fourth public hearing today in Sana'a to try 18 accused traitors, including Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, and others involved in the killing of 26 army prisoners and popular committees in 2015, after being captured on the front lines of Taiz, Marib, Aden and Hodeida provinces, as well as torturing and insulting prisoners and handing over nine others to invading states of aggression in exchange for money.

At the hearing, the court heard the responses of the lawyers on the accused fleeing justice.

The Tribunals agreed to continue reviewing the evidence of the indictment and to hear the responses of the suspended lawyers to the accused during their next hearings.

The Tribunals acknowledged that the prosecution's evidence would continue to be reviewed and that the responses of counsel on behalf of the accused would be heard during their future hearings.
