SANA'A, May. 24 (Saba) - His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, met on Tuesday with Deputy Minister of Local Administration Dr. Qassim Al-Humran.
During the meeting, the ministry's efforts to strengthen the role of local authority agencies in the provinces and districts in promoting the agricultural sector were discussed.
During the meeting, President Al-Mashat stressed the need to take care of agriculture as a priority at the level of each province, especially with the changes and events that the world is going through that have direct effects on food supplies.
He was directed in cooperation with the Provincial High Agricultural and Fisheries Commission to achieve the desired goals by expanding the cultivation of grain and other food crops to achieve self-sufficiency.
The President of the Supreme Political Council pointed out the need for local authority agencies to activate the role of agricultural cooperatives at the level of districts and areas and to ensure that farmers benefit from the facilities provided by government agencies, which contributes to the advancement of agricultural activities and the advancement of the agricultural sector.
