Yemen is not a source of terrorism, will not be any habitat for organizations or terrorist groups: FM
[15/ September/2021]

SANA'A, Sep. 15 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Abdullah on Tuesday commented on what was stated by the Director of National Intelligence in the US administration, Avril D. Haines.

The comment was on the sidelines of the annual summit meeting of the US security and intelligence services, in which she indicated that the next threat of terrorism after the events in Afghanistan will come from Yemen, Somalia, Iraq, and Syria.

Sharaf stressed, in a statement to Saba, that this expected position of the extremist wing in the American administration is nothing but an attempt to escape forward after the catastrophic failure of the American military and security policy in Afghanistan, by fabricating excuses and fictitious reasons to prepare for a new war against what It is called terrorism, to deceive and convince the street and the US Congress to enter a new war that goes beyond the Atlantic.

He said, "The mere withdrawal of the various new American intelligence services officials, the archive files of terrorist incidents, during the past twenty years, does not give the right or legitimacy to any official in the American administration to invent flimsy justifications for stigmatizing any country or people as a coming source of terrorism, especially after the failure of Screenplay of the American movie in Afghanistan.

The Secretary of State reminded US President Joe Biden of his pledge to his voters before and after the elections that among the priorities of his administration is ending the war on Yemen and achieving a just and lasting peace.

He added, "However, it seems that there are extremists in the staff of his Democratic administration who are working to prepare and adopt the so-called 'next war against terrorism' project in the countries mentioned by the US Director of National Intelligence, in an attempt to continue interfering in the affairs of states, supporting the war industry and merchants of wars."

Yemen is not a source of terrorism and will not be any habitat for organizations or terrorist groups.

He said: "Yemen has the strength and capacity, which enables it to confront any possible terrorism on its borders and the Red Sea, and that it is ready to cooperate with the international community to participate in combating all forms of terrorism, and we assure the whole world that there is no place for terrorism in Yemen."

He added: "Instead of distributing accusations, Haines can request a report on the aggression coalition's support for extremist groups and militias in Yemen, in addition to assigning analysts and US intelligence policymakers to study the feasibility of opening Sana'a airport and the port of Hodeida, to facilitate the entry of materials for the besieged Yemeni people's needs. And you will find that ending the aggression, lifting the siege, and opening airports and ports will enhance the chances of security and stability and fight any possible form of terrorism, instead of finding justifications for the failure of the current US administration, and returning to the fight against terrorism in Yemen.
