SANA'A, Aug. 07 (Saba) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Hisham Sharaf welcomed on Saturday the appointment of Hans Grundberg as the UN Secretary-General's as the special envoy to Yemen.
The Foreign Minister said in a statement to Saba that he wished the new UN envoy to Yemen to succeed in his new post, end the US-Saudi aggression and lift the comprehensive blockade that caused the worst human-made humanitarian disaster.
He stressed the need to re-open Sana'a International Airport and allow the entry of the ships loaded with oil, domestic gas, and commercial goods to the port of Hodeida, stressing that such issues should be on top of the topics to be addressed by the new envoyenvoy.
After that, the new envoy should arrange for a comprehensive ceasefire and a start of peace negotiations to reach a comprehensive political sattlement that will achieve security, stability and sovereignty of Yemen and all its territories, Sharaf said.
