YPC holds UN responsible for deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen
[09/ July/2021]

SANA'A, Jul. 09 (Saba) – The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) on Friday held the United Nations responsible for the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen.

This came in a statement issued during a vigil organized by the company’s staff in front of the UN office in Sana'a to denounce the sea piracy of the Saudi-led aggression coalition on the fuel ships, which exacerbated the suffering of Yemeni people.

The statement condemned the silence of the United Nations and the complicity of the international organizations and bodies with the aggression coalition forces in preventing the entry of fuel ships to Hodeida port despite obtaining UN permits.

The statement affirmed that the catastrophic affects of the continued piracy acts on fuel ships were not met with serious move from the United Nation, as it is the international body concerned with facilitating the access of basic goods.

The aggression forces are still holding four fuel ships, including one loaded with mazut, another loaded with domestic gas, and two others carrying 59,966 tons of benzene and diesel, for more than seven months, the statement added.
