Supreme Council of Yemeni Businessmen holds fugitive Hadi responsible for weakening Yemeni currency
[29/ June/2021]

SANA'A, Jun. 29 (Saba) - The Supreme Council of Yemeni Businessmen held on Tuesday the forces of aggression and Hadi's government fully responsible for printing more banknotes and contributing to weakening the value of the Yemeni currency against the dollar.

In a statement, the council expressed its deep concern over what Riyadh government has done to pump more banknotes printed recently through Aden and Mukalla banks, which would weaken the value of the national currency against the U.S. dollar, which is witnessing a noticeable rise in Some Yemeni provinces.

The statement considered the printing banknotes in light of this frightening economic situation, without any coverage, and outside the legal path of the Central Bank of Yemen in the capital Sana'a, targeting the life of the Yemeni people in its living situation.

It called on the National Salvation Government to prevent the circulation of currency printed by Hadi’s government and dealing with it in the local market, blaming the United Nations, the Security Council, international organizations and the World Bank for the responsibility of facilitating the printing and transfer of currency printed by Hadi to the Central Bank branches in Aden and Hadramout and contributing to the damage to the national economy.

The statement also called on all financial and businessmen to stand with the country at this critical stage by contributing to stabilizing the economic situation, preserving the national economy and alleviating the economic burdens that the Yemeni citizen suffers in the first place.
