Parliament condemns Saudi regime decision to prevent performance of Hajj
[15/ June/2021]

SANA'A, Jun. 15 (Saba) - The Parliament strongly condemned and denounced, in its session on Tuesday, the irresponsible decision taken by the Saudi regime to prevent the performance of the Hajj ritual for this year.

In a statement issued today, the parliament explained that it followed with great interest the decision made by the Saudi regime to restrict the Hajj this year to 60,000 Saudis and residents in the Kingdom and depriving pilgrims in other countries from performing this ritual, which is the fifth pillar of Islam.

The statement considered the decision a provocation to the feelings of more than one and a half billion Muslims worldwide, at a time when the so-called entertainment authority in the Saudi regime allows a scramble for art performances with twice the number of pilgrims allowed this year.

This decision comes within the framework of confiscating legitimate rights and restricting Muslims in performing the Hajj, in conjunction with the steps taken by the Zionist entity occupying the Palestinian territories to crack down on Muslims in Al-Aqsa Mosque, the statement added.

In its statement, the Parliament called on the parliaments, states and peoples of the Islamic world to condemn the practices of the Saudi regime and to demand the formation of a body of Islamic countries to manage the Two Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina.
