SANA'A, May 31 (Saba) – The United Nations envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths, left Sana'a on Monday after a two-day visit, during which he met with Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din Al-Houthi and officials in the Salvation Government.

During a press conference upon his departure from Sanaa International Airport, Griffiths said that he discussed with Sayyed Abdulmalik, the United Nations plan that includes a nationwide ceasefire, lifting restrictions imposed on the movement of people and basic goods, and resuming the political process.

Griffiths confirmed that the positions of the United Nations are clear and include removing all obstacles that prevent Yemenis from obtaining food and basic commodities, including fuel.

"The continuation of military actions in many parts of Yemen undermines peace prospects and endangers the lives of Yemenis, and it must stop," he said.

He added, "All the proposals we put forward included reopening Sanaa airport and allowing commercial flights to resume," noting that these proposals are in line with the parties' wishes and statements regarding prioritizing the humanitarian needs of Yemenis.
