SANA'A, May 28 (Saba) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Hisham Sharaf on Thursday sent a cable of congratulations to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Demeke Mekonnen Hassen on the occasion of his country's national day.
Foreign Minister also sent a congratulatory telegram to his counterpart in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov on the occasion of his country's national day.
The Ethiopian people marks their national day on Ma,28 when the Derg socialist military regime was overthrown by the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) in 1991, commemorated by the May 28 holiday.
Republic Day honours the date on which the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) was founded as the first secular democratic state in the Muslim East: 28 May 1918. Since 1990, Republic Day is celebrated as a national holiday in Azerbaijan.
