SANA'A, Jan. 24 (Saba) - The International Council Supporting Fair Trial and Human Rights (ICDFT) in Geneva on Sunday renewed its call for the international community to take immediate measures to stop maritime piracy against fuel vessels by the Saudi-led aggression coalition.
In a statement that the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) obtained a copy of it, the ICSFT also called on the relevant bodies of the United Nations to work to ensure the access of ships to the port of Hodeida to avoid the catastrophic situation that would result from the delay in the ships release.
The statement affirmed the need to pressure the aggression coalition countries to abide by the Stockholm Agreement, which stresses in its entirety the need to facilitate the smooth arrival of fuel ships, food, medicine, basic materials and humanitarian aid to the port of Hodeida to meet the needs of the Yemeni people.
The ICSFT considered acts of piracy against ships as a war crime against humanity, and not just a violation of the laws and principles of the United Nations and international norms.
"The coalition countries continue to piracy ships carrying fuel and food and prevent them from reaching the port of Hodeida without logical reasons, despite those ships obtaining approval from the United Nations," the Council said.
The statement indicated that the humanitarian situation in Yemen is catastrophic; a fact that has become known internationally and with UN recognition, but the coalition is still continuing to commit its crimes against the Yemeni people.
In its statement, the ICSFT pointed out that the United States of America had ignored the warnings of the United Nations about the effects of the decision to designate Ansarullah as a terrorist organization, which undermines the entry of humanitarian aid and limits the activities of UN relief agencies and other organizations.
