[30/ November/2020]

SANA'A, Nov. 30 (Saba) -  Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister discussed here on Sunday with the Iranian ambassador to Yemen cooperation in the field of higher education and ways to develop them.

Hussein Hazeb and Hassan Irloo touched upon the possibility of resuming the executive program for cooperation in higher education and scientific research between the two brotherly countries, which was previously signed.

Hazeb and Irloo also reviewed the procedures for arranging and organizing scholarships announced by Iran in the fields of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.

Minister Hazeb hailed the position of Iran's leadership, government, and people supporting the Yemeni people in the face of aggression, welcoming the Iranian investment in the field of higher education.

Hazeb said that the aggression's raids inflicted great damage on Yemeni higher education institutions, with an estimated loss of more than 3 billion dollars, including stopping visas for cultural exchange with other brotherly and friendly countries.

On his part, the Iranian ambassador touched on the status of higher education and scientific research in Iran, stressing that education was one of the most important weapons for Iran's renaissance after the 1979 revolution.

Irloo affirmed his country's keenness to support the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education in Yemen by pursuing graduate studies in Iranian universities in various fields.
