Yemen, ICRC discuss establishing amputated limb ward in Hajjah

HAJJAH, Nov. 25 (Saba) - Yemen and the International Committee Red Cross (ICRC) have discussed the possibility of the ICRC to intervene in medical treatment of amputated limbs in Hajjah province.

 

During a meeting held on Tuesday, al-Jumhori hospital head Abdul Malik Jahaf and head of ICRC Sa'ada sub-delegation Kakhaber Khasaia reviewed possible ways the ICRC could help with to treat amputees and handicapped who need artificial limbs.

 

Jahaf stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between al-Jumhori hospital and the ICRC to open a special ward to receive and treat handicapped cases that suffer from amputated limbs.

 

Mr. Khasaia expressed the ICRC's readiness to provide all possible support to establish the ward and treat people who have amputated limbs.
