TAIZ, Nov. 23 (Saba) - The human rights office in Taiz province has said that almost 851 children have killed or injured since the beginning of the aggression on Yemen in March 2015.

In a statement issued on Sunday on the occasion of World Children's Day, the office stated that the aggression airstrikes and artillery attacks have killed 427 children and injured 424 in the province.

World Children's Day is celebrated children's rights, while the rights of Yemen's children were being abused along with absolute silence of the international community.

The statement confirmed that the aggression continues killing to the children in Taiz and other provinces is one of the most serious crimes against humanity according to the international humanitarian law.

The statement indicated that the aggression coalition and its mercenaries have bombed schools, causing the children to be endangered, the last of which was the bombardment of 22 May school in Salah district that has left a child killed and many others injured.

The raids and bombings also destroyed 152 schools. It was noted that schools in the territory controlled by mercenaries used them as military headquarters.

The statement mentioned that children were exposed to grave violations by individuals of military and security brigades and mercenaries belong to the aggression coalition, in addition to recruiting them to fight in their battles.

The closure of the Taiz International Airport and the control of the Mocha port had doubled the children suffering, particularly those who want to travel for medical treatment abroad. The lack of access to medicines and child-related assistance had increased the number of children suffering from malnutrition in the province.

The Human Rights Office in Taiz held the United Nations, the international community, and the humanitarian community fully responsible for violations of children's rights, calling on the concerned international and local organizations to assume their humanitarian responsibility and monitor and document these crimes that are considered war crimes.
