[15/ November/2020]

MARIB, Nov. 14 (Saba) - The escalation of the US-Saudi-led aggression's airstrikes on Marib province has led to the displacement of thousands of civilians and the damage to the public and private properties.

The Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (SCHA) - Marib Branch - condemned on Friday such escalation that causes serious repercussions.

More than 1,500 air raids on Marib have been registered for the past three months. They have left massive destruction of service projects, public facilities and private properties.

The intensive airstrikes also increased the suffering of thousands of civilians, the Council said in a statement received by Saba, which showed that over 5,000 families have fled from their homes into other districts in the province or the capital Sana'a and the neighboring provinces.

The Council called on humanitarian and international organizations to help the displaced and affected families and to alleviate their severe suffering under the continuous hostile escalation of aggression and the beginning of winter as well.

The Council also called on the UN humanitarian coordinator in Yemen and the UN envoy to exert pressure on the aggression coalition to stop attacking the populated villages, markets and public roads, as targeting such civil objects are criminalized by the international laws.
