SANA'A, Nov. 01 (Saba) - The parliament passed on Sunday the manuscript bill.
In a session chaired by speaker Yahya Al-Ra'i, the parliament voted for the bill's articles amended by the parliamentary media, culture and tourism committee.
The manuscript bill aims to preserve the scientific, cultural and historical heritage of manuscripts, in a way that protects manuscripts from being stolen or smuggling.
Based on the bill, a national register is to make contains all the manuscripts all over the country, in addition to using up-to-date methods to document, index, archive, photograph them.
The bill also encourages the manuscripts' holders to register and restore them and the academic institutions to begin study their contents.
