SPC constantly call for diplomatic solution: al-Houthi
[27/ September/2020]

SANA'A, Sep. 27 (Saba) - A member of the Supreme Political Council (SPC) Mohammed Ali al-Houthi has said that the Council constantly calls for a diplomatic solution.

"We make every effort to reach an agreement at the national level if foreign interference stops," al-Houthi said in an interview British journalist and Senior Yemen Analyst at International Crisis Group member Peter Salisbury.

"If it stopped, we would reach solutions before a single drop of blood shed."

Al-Houthi said that the intervention of the US, Saudi Arabia, the UK, the UAE and the allied aggression countries had killed the Yemeni people, devastated country's facilities and infrastructure.

He said the United Nations agrees with whatever comes from the aggression's countries and does not accept any proposals presented by the National Authority in Sana'a.

"We have presented a comprehensive solution document that includes just solutions for all Yemenis, which are not impossible to be carried out. The document demanded the minimum that must be met to save the Yemeni people and to stop the aggression," the SPC's member said.

He hoped that the UN would change its approach and does not accept solution proposals only from the countries of aggression; the US, the UK, Saudi Arabia and the UAE and not the other side.

In his response to a question regarding the joint declaration of the UN envoy, he said, "We made remarks on the joint declaration, but they were not included."

However, he added "the envoy was informed to go first to persuade Saudi Arabia, the US and the aggression's countries, which referred the matter to its mercenaries who refused the declaration."

The SPC's member affirmed that civilians should not be assaulted, adding "It is not in our dictionary to target civilians, and if it is, that will be very clear."

He reiterated the demand to form inquiry panels to probe into the massacres committed by the aggression against civilians, stressing that the victims numbers of the aggression and its mercenaries' crimes are enormous.

Regarding communication with tribes in Marib and other provinces, al-Houthi said that it is ongoing aiming to stop fighting and preserve the Republic of Yemen.
