Criminal Court issues the execution decree of convicted for targeting, killing central security soldiers, officers in Capital Sanaa

SANAA, Sep. 2 (Saba) – Specialized Criminal Court of the First Instance in the Capital Sanaa has ruled to execute a convicted of targeting and killing soldiers of the Central Security Forces in al-Sabeen Square.

The execution of the sentence will be at the crime scene in al-Sabeen square as the death penalty and retaliation penalty for the crime he had committed against 70 soldiers.

The sentence of this court ruled that the accused Ahmed Mohammed Atiq al-Azzani and was convicted of the charges in the indictment, he is going to be shot dead according to the death penalty in al-Sabeen square.

The Criminal Prosecution charged the convicted person with participating during the period 2011 to 2015 in an armed gang organized by al Qaeda to carry out criminal acts aimed at attacking the armed and security forces, military and security installations and headquarters, and assassinating officers and members of the army and security.

The indictment included the convict, along with others from al-Qaeda who had previously acted on them and others who had escaped from justice, to prepare, plan, monitor, and prepare to carry out a suicide attack with an explosive belt in 2012 on central security soldiers presented in al-Sabeen square while they were performing the 22nd National Day military parade of the Republic of Yemen on May 22nd, in which the solider Haitham Hamid Mufareh blew himself up with a high explosive belt, killing 86 soldiers and injuring 171 central security officers and soldiers.
