Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns crime of targeting homes of citizens in Jawf

SANAA, July 16 (Saba) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned in the strongest terms the war crime committed by the aggression coalition aircraft on Wednesday.

 

A Saudi-led raid hit civilians' houses in al-Mesafah village east of al-Hazm district in Jawf province, killing 31 civilians, including women and children, in an initial toll.

 

The ministry indicated in a statement, Saba got a copy of it, that the countries of the aggression coalition committed this crime and the blood of children and women that bombed it last Sunday in Washha district of Hajjah province has not yet dried up.

 

The Ministry's statement pointed out,that since the beginning of the aggression, the states of the aggression have killed about 16,700 civilians, including 3,750 children, 2,370 women, and have caused the injury of approximately 26,100 citizens, along with tens of thousands of citizens who have died due to the blockade, diseases, and malnutrition.

 

The statement stressed that the crimes of aggression coalition against Yemen will continue as long as the world turns its back on these crimes and does not move to stop the blood of the Yemenis that shed and their capabilities are destroyed every day for the sixth consecutive year.

 

It noted that the Security Council held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the Safar Floating Reservoir, while there has been no special meeting to discuss war crimes against humanity committed by the States of Aggression since March 26, 2015.

 

The statement renewed the call of the international community, the Security Council, the Human Rights Council, and humanitarian organizations to carry out their moral and humanitarian duty, condemn this crime and other crimes, and force the countries of aggression to respect international humanitarian law and international human rights law as the crimes have been lasting for nearly six years.

 

The Foreign Ministry called on countries that are still selling weapons to Saudi Arabia to immediately stop selling arms in order not to be a continuous partner in killing the Yemeni people.

 

It renewed the call for the formation of an independent and unbiased international committee to investigate all crimes committed by the aggression countries, end impunity, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
