100 food violations in Hodeidah Seized in June

HODEIDAH, July 6 (Saba) - The supervisory field committees of the Industry and Trade Office in Hodeidah province have seized 100 food violations in June.

 

A report issued by the Office showed that the violations were in al-Hali, al-Hawk, and al-Mina districts in the province, and included two violations of failure to declare prices, 11 violations of selling spoiled food, 49 lack of weights, seven commercial fraud, a violation of rising price, 30 Monopolies on food, unrecorded documents, refusal to inspect stores, and non-compliance with precautionary instructions to face Coronavirus.

 

The Acting Director of the Office of Industry and Trade in Hodeidah Mohamed Abdelwahed al-Hattami said that 280 shops were inspected and 128 violators were notified so as to attend the province's office.

 

Al-Hattami added that all ovens and bakeries were circulated to the necessity of using local flour products at 25 percent to encourage local production of corn, and for the benefit of the citizen and the national economy so as to mitigate of imported flour to reach food sufficiency in light of the aggression and the blockade imposed on Yemen.

 

He indicated that all violations were adjudicated and it has been imposed fines, in addition to taking pledges and closing 12 stores.

 

Al-Hattami underlined that the field committees continue to monitor price conditions, monitor markets, take legal measures against violators and manipulators and provide the Central Operations Room with daily reports.
