SANAA, July 5 (Saba) - An Executive Office of the Agricultural Cooperative Union has condemned the aggression coalition's continued detention of oil ships at sea, which negatively affected the agricultural and cooperative sector, farmers, services, and health and water sectors.
In a statement issued by the Union, its associations, and its branches in the provinces, Saba obtained a copy of it, they denounced the persistence of the aggression and its constant prevention of entering food, medicines, and petroleum products to the port of Hodeidah, which compound the suffering of the Yemenis.
This action was considered genocide against the Yemeni people committed by the aggression which leads and will lead a humanitarian catastrophe that has not been witnessed in recent history, it has not seen any in various service and production sectors, especially the agricultural sector, because of its disastrous effects as one of the most important sources of food security, the statement read.
The statement drew attention to the damage caused by the continued detention of oil ships to produce crops that depend on irrigation water from wells and the interruption of various agricultural equipment and machinery for the agricultural sector.
"We are in the agricultural cooperative sector in all its associations, we condemn this cowardly act that is inconsistent with international humanitarian laws, we call on the United Nations and its international humanitarian organizations to carry out their duty to stop aggression, lift the blockade, allow entry to oil derivatives, lift economic restrictions and not use the economy as a tool of war," the statement said.
It called on the Arab cooperative and agricultural federations, the Arab cooperative union, the General Union of Arab farmers and agricultural cooperatives, the international cooperative alliance and all international cooperative and agricultural federations to work to stop the aggression, lift the siege on the Yemeni people, allow access to oil derivatives, and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
