Land Transport Authority condemns detention of oil ships
[01/ July/2020]

SANAA, July 1 (Saba) - The General Authority for Land Transport Regulatory Affairs has condemned the continued detention of the aggression coalition for oil vessels as well as blocking ships to dock to Hodeidah.

In a statement, Saba got a copy of it, the Authority considered that the detention of ships is criminal acts incompatible with religion, laws, international and humanitarian and human rights agreements.

It pointed to the magnitude of the disaster on the road transport sector, which includes more than 150,000 different means of transport due to the seizure of oil ships.

The Authority pointed out that there are more than 80 thousand vehicles of transporting passengers and more than 70 thousand vehicles of transporting goods and food and basic goods among the provinces.

It noted that stopping the oil ships will lead to starvation, in addition to the damage to the agricultural sector, the accumulation of agricultural products among farmers, and the lack of access to the rest of the provinces.

The Authority's statement stressed that the stoppage of transportation due to the lack of oil derivatives will be reflected in all service sectors related to the lives of citizens.

It deplored the international silence on this crime, blaming the United Nations and the Security Council for all the crimes committed by the aggression coalition more than five years ago.
