SANAA, June 27 (Saba) - The Ministry of Public Health and Population has warned of a major health catastrophe due to the lack of oil derivatives.
The health ministry blamed the United Nations and the states of aggression for daily deaths due to the deteriorating health situation as a result of the aggression and the blockade and preventing oil ships from entering Yemen.
Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutawakkil confirmed in a statement to Saba that Yemen is on the brink of a major health catastrophe if the aggressive countries continue to prevent oil ships from entering Yemen.
He said, " We sound the alarm, especially after a partial stoppage of three oxygen factories, which exposes thousands of patients to death, especially those in intensive care rooms in isolation centers, hospitals, and others, which means that we are facing a crime that the aggression bears its responsibility by seizing the oil ships and the United Nations bears its responsibility for its silence."
He pointed out that the blockade imposed on Yemen and hindering of oil ships further exacerbated the health situation, in addition to the bombardment and destruction of the health sector by the aggression.
The Minister Al-Mutawakkil indicated that hospitals depend entirely on oil derivatives in providing them with energy to operate medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic devices, moving ambulances and emergency vehicles, and transporting doctors, paramedics, and health workers.
He expressed his concern about the stoppage of operating rooms, intensive care, emergencies, diagnostic and therapeutic methods, laboratories and incubators in all hospitals and health centers as a result of the interruption of the sources of electrical energy supply, explaining that preventing oil derivatives undermines the process of facing the Coronavirus in isolation centers in various provinces.
A statement issued by the Ministry confirmed, Saba got a copy of it, that preventing the entry of oil derivatives would turn hospitals into cemeteries in light of running out of fuel and stopping ambulance services.
The shortages of oil derivatives threaten to stop many hospitals from providing treatment and diagnostic services, laboratories, operating rooms, intensive care, dialysis centers, emergencies, and others, the statement read.
It called on human rights organizations to quickly move and pressure the aggressive countries to allow ships of oil and food to enter into Yemen, especially as they are subject to United Nations inspections.

The statement indicated that the aggression coalition intentionally kills Yemenis by preventing the entry of ships of oil derivatives into Yemen in compound crimes added to its previous series of crimes committed against the Yemeni people.
More than 30 central and rural hospitals condemned the Criminal arrogance of the US- Saudi aggression coalition countries in preventing oil derivatives from entering Yemen, exposing the country to a new health disaster.
Hospitals confirmed in statements, Saba got a copy of it, that many departments are at risk of stopping as a result of depletion of oil derivatives, which put the lives of patients, especially children and women, at risk of death.
They pointed out that health facilities, in light of the current situation, have become unable to provide their services and operate most of the medical devices, recovery and emergency equipment, and cooling operations for solutions, medicines, and other that portend a humanitarian catastrophe added to the aggression crimes in Yemen.
The hospitals and medical units appealed to the international community, the United Nations, and humanitarian and human rights organizations to work to lift the blockade, stop the aggression and allow the entry of oil derivatives and humanitarian and medical aid, especially connected to confronting Corona.
They condemned the deliberate and excessive negative statements of the United Nations and its organizations on the committed crimes of aggression against the Yemeni people.
