SANAA, June 1 (Saba) – Ministry of Human Rights on Monday condemned Saudi-led aggression coalition’s artillery shelling on al-Zohor neighborhood in al-Hali district of Hodeidah province, which killed four citizens and injured 18 others.

A statement issued by the ministry considered shelling citizens’ homes a war crime added to the series of crimes and violations committed by the aggression coalition led by the United States, Saudi Arabi and the United Arab Emirates and their mercenaries against the Yemeni people.

“The targeting of innocent citizens and civilian objects is a flagrant violation of the rules and provisions of international humanitarian law and international human rights law,” the statement read.

The ministry indicated that the aggression coalition continues to close ports and airports and imposes the siege on civilians in al-Durayhimi district in the province, ignoring all the international laws that criminalize these immoral and inhuman practices.

The statement held the United Nations, its bodies and organizations, and the UN envoy to Yemen fully responsible for all crimes and violations committed by the aggression coalition against the Yemeni people for more than five years, as a result of their continuous disregard.

The Ministry called again on the United Nations and the Security Council to enforce provisions to respect the national sovereignty of Yemen, pressure for stopping all forms of aggression and the systematic blockade on the Yemeni people, form an independent international committee to investigate into all massacres and crimes committed by the aggression coalition in Yemen.
