Yemeni military court sentenced nine military leaders to death, including Hadi

SANAA, April 14 (Saba) - Yemen's Supreme Military court sentenced on Monday nine military leaders, including Hadi to death convicted of treason aiding the enemy and facilitating entry into the territory of  Republic of Yemen and other incidents.

Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi has been sentencing to death for a impersonating the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces at the end of his term on February 21, 2014, and the absence of appointment decisions to military public office as well as the absence of all legal decisions, actions relating to the authority of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces issued.

Ali Mohsen Saleh al-Ahmar has been convicting for impersonating the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, as well as Muhammad Ali al-Meqrashi for impersonating the Chief of Staff, impersonating the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and the representative of the so-called Joint Forces Command, Storm of Firmness and impersonating the Minister of Defense.

Tarek Mohammed Abdullah Saleh al-Ahmar has been convicting for impersonating the leader of the so-called Joint National Resistance on the West Coast and impersonating the so-called Commander of the Guards of the Republic, as well as convicting Abdullah Salem Ali al-Nakai for impersonating the commander of the navy and coastal defense and then impersonating the chief of the General Staff.

Fadl Hassan Mohammed al-Omari has been also convicting for impersonating the commander of the 4th Military Region, the commander of the 4th Brigade, and Yahya Abdullah Salah by impersonating the commander of the 5th Military Zone, and Amin Abdullah Hamed al-Waili by impersonating the commander of the 6th Military Region.

Hashim Abdullah Hussein al-Ahmar has been convicting for impersonating the commander of the 6th Military Region on 17 February 2018 and impersonating the commander of the 141st Infantry Brigade.

  Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, Mohammed Ali al-Maqshi, Abdullah Salem al-Nakhi, Yahya Hussein Abdullah Salah, Amin al-Waeli and Hashim Abdullah al-Ahmar were convicted of plagiarizing and illegally wearing military ranks.

All the defendants were also convicted of the crime for aiding the enemy to joining the armed forces of the Countries of Aggression of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates while at war on Yemen and facilitate the entry of the forces of Saudi and Emirati aggression into the territory of the Republic of Yemen.

The defendants also sought to hand over camps, military sites and weapons and ammunition depots to the countries of aggression.

Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, Mohammed Ali al-Maqshi, Abdullah Salem al-Nakhai, Fadel Hassan al-Omari, Yahya Hussein Abdullah Salah, Amin Abdullah al-Waili, Tariq Mohammed Abdullah Saleh al-Ahmar and Hashim Abdullah Hussein al-Ahmar has been sentencing to death and confiscating the funds of convicts to the state treasury and giving the Ministry of Defense priority to its rights.

  The ruling also ordered the dismissal of Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, Mohammed Ali al-Maqshi, Abdullah Salem al-Nakhai, Fadel Hassan al-Omari, Yahya Hussein Salah, Amin Abdullah al-Waili, Tariq Mohammed Abdullah Saleh and Hashim Abdullah Hussein al-Ahmar and expelled from service in the armed forces and deprived of the rights and benefits contained in the text of article (101) of the General Crimes and Penal Code.

According to the sentencing, all convicts must pay 1,500,000 Yemeni riyals to lawyers appointed to defend them .

Mona Zaid
