Al-Houthi meets Head of ICRC Delegation

SANAA, March. 30 (Saba) - Supreme Political Council's member Mohammed Ali al-Houthi met on Monday in Sanaa with the head of the ICRC delegation Franz Rauchenstein and his deputy.

During the meeting, Mohammed al-Houthi stressed the need to complete the process of the total exchange of prisoners, and not to put the other party in the way of obstacles, blaming the coalition countries for what might happen to the prisoners due to Corona's disease.

"All the prisoners who are agreed to be released must be released, who are the majority, and the exchange should not be hindered by the difference over a very small number of them, who will be released in a later deal," he said.

The member of the Supreme Political Council urged the International Committee of the Red Cross to do more to put pressure on the Alliance of Aggression and its mercenaries to complete the exchange.

He confirmed the readiness to receive prisoners of the national side and put them in a precautionary quarantine and then return to their families and homes unharmed.

Al-Houthi referred to what he had proposed to the UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, on finding a mechanism to communicate with the mercenary government regarding Corona's disease, and to have a joint emergency operations room.

"So far there has been no contact, but in Aden a quantity of solutions that the World Health Organization (WHO) wanted to provide to Sana'a has been confiscated, which requires a condemnation by the International Committee of the Red Cross," he said.

He stressed the cooperation of the Supreme Political Council and the Rescue Government with the ICRC and its keenness to facilitate its tasks and provide logistical support, including providing any possible cooperation to other areas under occupation because we view it as the first line of defense against the disease.
