Press conference in Saada highlights crimes, violations of aggression in province

SAADA, March. 28 (Saba) - A press conference on the humanitarian situation in the province, violations and crimes of aggression was held on Saturday in Saada province, organized by the provincial human rights office with five years of steadfastness.

At the conference, which was attended by Saada Governor Mohammed Jaber Awadh, Director of the Human Rights Office Ali Al-Mutamaiz revealed the total number of martyrs and wounded during five years of aggression, which reached 11,984 people, including 1,275 children and 810 women.

He explained that the infrastructure and basic public and private services in the province have been systematically destroyed. The number of government facilities destroyed is 177, 374 reservoirs and water networks, 125 bridges, 48 networks, communication stations, 26 stations, a generator and an airport.

Over five years, the aggression fighter jet had destroyed 53 health facilities, a hospital, 264 schools, 30 educational facilities, 256 mosques, 17 cemeteries, 18 archaeological sites, 14 tourist facilities, four cultural facilities and nine sports facilities, he said.

Al-Mutamaiz said the economic sector was destroyed by the aggression fighter jet, which caused the destruction of 2,564 commercial establishments, 201 markets, 1,000, 181 transportation, 74 gas stations, 41 fuel tankers, 70 food stores, 92 trucks, 35 factories and 106 agricultural equipment and installations.

There was much that had not been observed, either at the level of civilian casualties or at other levels. He called on human rights organizations to play their part in uncovering crimes of aggression and lack of identification with the executioner.

He praised the efforts of the provincial leadership and the humanitarian sector and all those who cooperated with the Human Rights Office.

The governor of Saada confirmed that the aggression deliberately targeted everything related to the elements of life in the province and did not exclude anything. He considered the crimes of the coalition of aggression over the five years a disgrace to the states of aggression and the international community.
