SANAA, March. 27 (Saba) - The Islamic resistance movement Hamas praised The Initiative of Mr. Abdul Malik Badreddin al-Houthi yesterday evening, regarding the exchange of prisoners in Yemen in exchange for the release of Palestinian detainees in Saudi Arabia.
"In the face of this self-initiative, we highly appreciate the spirit of brotherhood and compassion for the Yemeni people and support their steadfastness and resistance, and we express our thanks for this interest and initiative," Hamas said in a statement to Saba.
Hamas renewed its demand for the urgent release of all Palestinian detainees from the kingdom's prisons, led by Dr. Mohammed al-Khodari Abu Hani.
The statement noted that the movement has no effort in communicating with the Saudi leadership for nearly a year, the latest of which is the call of the head of the political bureau of the movement Ismail Haniyeh to the King of Saudi Arabia to release the Palestinian detainees.
Hamas stressed that the question of Palestine was and will remain the universal cause of the Arab-Islamic nation. Calling on all to unite their efforts to support the Palestinian people and their just cause.
