SANAA, Jan. 23 (Saba) – Yemen's Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf expressed on Thursday Yemen's congratulations to the Russian Federation on the occasion of its chairmanship of the BRICS Group for 2020 and Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The move came during a congratulatory message sent to his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on the occasion of his re-appointment as the foreign minister in the Russia's new government.
At the message, Sharaf conveyed the Supreme Political Council's appreciation on an initial position made by Russia in rejecting the war and the siege imposed by the Saudi-led aggression coalition on the Yemeni people.
The minister Sharaf called on Moscow to play a role to end the Saudi aggression against Yemen and support a peaceful political settlement sponsored by the United Nations.
