SANAA, Nov. 25 (Saba) - Deputy Foreign Minister, Head of the National Committee for Refugees, Hussein al-Ezzi on Tuesday met with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Resident Representative in Sanaa Christa Rottensteiner.
They discussed the performance of the IOM office in Yemen, the shortcomings and ways to correct imbalances in accordance with the obligations and tasks entrusted to the organization.
At the meeting, al-Ezzi stressed the need to expedite the implementation of the organization tasks related to the evacuation of illegal immigrants from the Horn of Africa and return them to their countries, especially in light of the large humanitarian challenges that the country is going through due to the continued aggression and blockade, and its Implications for the economic, security, social and health aspects of the Yemeni citizen.
For her part, Rottensteiner confirmed the IOM's keenness to coordinate and cooperate with the national authorities to ensure the success of its tasks and contribute to serving the Yemeni society.
