BAGHDAD,(Saba) - A U.S. soldier was killed and three were wounded when a roadside bomb wrecked their vehicle in Baghdad Saturday, a U.S. military spokesman said.

U.S. soldiers blocked off the site of the explosion, which had targeted a passing convoy, witnesses said. Helicopters flew
overhead, and one took the wounded to a military hospital.

A series of explosions have shook Baghdad in the past days, raising fears of more violence ahead of the June 30 transfer of power to
Iraqis by the U.S. occupation authority.
