BAGHDAD,(Saba)-U.S. forces are investigating reports that a car bomb has exploded outside the police headquarters in the Iraqi town
of Samarra, causing several casualties, military sources said here Saturday.
According to the source, they said the blast was reported in the volatile town of Samarra, 100 km (62 miles) north of Baghdad in the "Sunni triangle" region.
Guerrillas have regularly targeted Iraqi police, often in car bomb strikes
on police stations. Other Iraqis seen as cooperating with U.S.-led occupation
forces are also targeted.
