Baghdad,(Saba) - Two powerful explosions were heard in Baghdad Sunday night, an AFP correspondent reported.
It was not clear where the blasts occurred, but resistance have been shelling the US-led coalition's Baghdad compound on an almost nightly basis since the end of October.
Three US soldiers were wounded when resistance shelled the citadel-like coalition compound last Tuesday.
The US military has detained 35 people in connection with last month's rocket attack on Baghdad's Rashid hotel which killed a US colonel and wounded 17 others, a senior US military officer told AFP Sunday.
The men were rounded up early Saturday morning in a raid on Baghdad's ritzy Mansur district by four companies from the US army's First Armoured Division.
The officer cautioned it was not certain that the men were definitely the ones behind the attack on the Rashid hotel.
