ANAA, May 7 (Saba) - Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, Tuesday met with Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), Amir M. Abdulla, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed the activities of the program office in Yemen and how the aid reaches the needy.
During the meeting, The President stressed the need to avoid the previous mechanisms that led to the distribution of corrupt and expired food and the withdrawal of the remainder of them and the search for an agreed mechanism to deliver aid to the needy and affected people of Yemen.
President Al-Mashat also stressed the need to redress the imbalances in the work of the WFP in order to ensure that the non-distribution of corrupt or expired assistance to the people of Yemen.
He stressed the willingness of the competent authorities to cooperate in achieving an effective partnership that achieves the ultimate goal in serving the citizens to contribute to alleviating their suffering.
For his part, the World Food Program official expressed keen to work hard to contribute to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis in coordination and cooperation with the competent national authorities.
