HODEIDAH, April 29 (Saba) - The local authority of Hodeidah province on Monday condemned the crime of Sunday's rape of a woman in Tuhayta area.
The local authority stated in a statement obtained by the Saba news agency that a Sudanese mercenary raped Saada Omar Ahmed Akish after physically assaulting and wounding her with several stabs in a brutal crime that is incompatible with international religions and conventions.
The statement pointed out that the crimes of harassment and rape against women confirm the fact of aggression of the coalition and their mercenaries raping the land, honor, the rights and dignity of Yemenis.
The statement renewed the call for the peoples of the world to take a clear position on these crimes, which are repeated against women in the occupied areas by the forces of the aggression and mercenaries.
The statement pointed out that the silence on these crimes is a disgrace to humanity.
He pointed out that this silence has encouraged the coalition of aggression and its mercenaries to continue to commit their crimes in an attempt to practice various kinds of humiliation for the people of Yemen.
The statement blamed Arab and international human rights organizations, especially organizations concerned with the protection of human rights for continued committing to crimes and violations against women by coalition.
The statement demanded an official and popular position to respond to this crime and other crimes that violated the the sanctity of women's honor.
