Human rights Ministry condemns rape of Sudanese mercenary of woman in Hodeidah

SANAA, 29 April (Saba) The Ministry of Human Rights on Monday condemned the crime committed by one of the mercenaries of the US-saudi aggression coalition, where a Sudanese soldier of " Janjaweed" raping and stabbing a 50-year-old woman from the district of Tuhayta , in the province of Hodeidah.

The ministry said in a statement obtained by the Yemeni news agency (Saba) that this crime is a war crime stipulated in the Statute of the International Criminal Court and contravenes the United Nations Charter and Security Council Resolution 1325 calling for ensuring the safety of women and the promotion of security and peace in its public environment as well as agreements Geneva Convention, which states that women must be protected against any attack on their honor.

The statement also blamed the Security and Human Rights Councils, holding them responsible for all crimes committed against the women and girls in Yemen, especially in Hodeidah, in violation of all values, principles, humanitarian norms and international laws.

The statement called on the United Nations and its various organs and international organizations to pressure the Security Council to carry out its duty and responsibility to stop the aggression immediately and to left the all-out blockade imposed on country.

The ministry renewed the call for the formation of an independent and impartial international commission to investigate all crimes and violations committed by the coalition of aggression in Yemen, including crimes of rape, kidnapping and systematic torture.
