SANAA, April 28 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Sunday met with the Director of Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Nicholas Davies.
At the meeting, the Foreign Minister, handed over to the Director of the Office of the UN Envoy, two letters addressed to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and his Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, confirming that the saudi-backed authorities of resigned Hadi are not serious in its policies towards any settlement or peace, where the this Riyadh-hotels government, is taking in the occupied territories, unilateral action aimed at obstructing the confidence-building measures led by the United Nations and supported by the Security Council and the international community.
The Foreign Minister pointed out that these unilateral measures are aimed at obstructing the movement of citizens and placing difficulties in front of the life of the Yemeni citizen in the first place, including the decision not to deal with the documents issued by the Immigration and Passports Authority in Sanaa.
The letters stated that the government of hotels and its systematic policy of collective punishment not only punished the Yemeni citizen, but also punished foreigners residing in the Republic of Yemen, including not dealing with refugee cards in violation of Yemen's obligations under the 1951 Refugee Convention and its Protocol For the year 1967.
He called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations, his Special Envoy and the Security Council to pressure the hotel government to stop taking such reckless irresponsible and provocative actions, which in general give the impression of the non-seriousness of the hotel government and those working with it towards a political settlement.
