MOSCOW, April 27 (Saba) - The Kremlin welcomed Saturday the initiative of US President Donald Trump on nuclear disarmament, but stressed the need for more information and details on the initiative.
"It would be good to cleanse the world of nuclear weapons and that would be ideal, but on the other hand we would lose the only deterrent that exists," the spokesman for Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters as cited by the "Sputnik" Russian news agency.
"Some initiatives on nuclear arms reduction are welcome, but in this case it is very difficult to affirm good intentions," he said.
On Friday, US President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of the United States from the International Arms Trade Treaty.
