ANAA, March 10 (Saba) - The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that finding a bomb containing a detonator containing no explosives in the luggage of a US embassy employee at Sheremetyevo Int'l Airport was "an attempt to organize a provocation at a transport facility."
The Russian Foreign Ministry told Sputnik that the United States was trying to test the accuracy of ensuring the security of Russia, not only from abroad, by organizing provocative raids of ships and aircraft near our borders, but also from within and by involving the staff of their embassy.
She said the US embassy was immediately informed of the bomb incident in the luggage of one of the staff of the diplomatic mission, noting that Moscow hopes that the US embassy explain the behavior of its employee who tried to bring the bomb to the airport.
The ministry added that a US embassy employee directly linked to the US armed forces, is "provoked in a Russian transport facilities."
"When the luggage of a US embassy employee was checked, a mortar shell was found," the ministry said.
"The bomb experts who were summoned confirmed that this was indeed a shell with a detonator, but without the explosive material, although its effects were inside the structure," the ministry said.
"I immediately informed the US Embassy of the incident through the administrative line of the Russian Interior Ministry at Sheremetyevo Int'l Airport, and we hope to explain the behavior of its staff," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the embassy employee left Russia after completing his mission. He allegedly received an empty bomb to add to his "personal collection" and because of the delay, he get a new ticket and at 14.35 Moscow time he traveled to New York unhindered, but without carrying the bomb. "
