PM attends conclusion of YWU conference
[10/September/2003]
SANA'A, Sept. 10, (Saba)- The new leadership of the Yemeni Women Union (YWU) must be more dynamic in getting women involved in the different aspects of development, it should take advantage of decentralization, said Prime Minister Abdul Kader Bajammal in his address delivered at the conclusion of the 1st Yemeni Women Union (YWU) Conference, which took place 8-10 September.
Yemeni women have a major part to play in countering social evils such as the population explosion which poses a big threat to development in default of resources.
Bajammal pinned much hope on the union regarding social and economic development
through the qualification of women. The government, according to Bajammal, is determined to "back the Yemeni Women Union" in order "to develop a common language between the state and the NGOs."
