TAIZ, Jan. 16 (Saba) - At least 40 Saudi-paid mercenaries were killed and wounded when the army and popular forces launched major offensive overnight against the mercenaries near the Red Sea Bab Al-Mandab Striat, a military official told Saba on Monday.

Modern military tactics were used in the operation that surprisingly crushed the enemy, the official said.

The official also identified a number of mercenary commanders among the killed.
