[08/January/2017]

HODEIDA, Jan. 08 (Saba) - President of the Supreme Political Council directed on Sunday the National Salvation Government to quickly study ending all foreign fishing permits in Yemeni territorial waters and to assess the damage resulting therefrom.

This came during the inauguration of the Livelihoods Support Project, which is implemented by Al-Ekhlas Fishery Association in Hodeida province and financed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Al-Sammad also directed the government to establish programs to develop fishing techniques for Yemeni fishermen, calling the private sector to invest in this area locally and directly within the national investment projects.

He confirmed that the political council and the government pay attention to the resources of the producing social groups in the agricultural and fisheries sectors, especially in Hodeida province and other provinces targeted directly by the US-Saudi aggression.
