SANAA, Sept. 18 (Saba) - A special training course in the art of writing news stories about humanitarian crisis was organized here in the capital on Sunday by the Yemeni Women's Union in association with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

About 33 participants from the women's union, civil society organizations and journalists attended the two-day course.

The course includes the concepts and principles of writing news stories related to humanitarian crisis situation and how to conduct interviews, as well as teaching photography skills.

In the opening ceremony, chairwoman of the union, Fathia Mohammed Abdullah, delivered a speech, saying "this training course came as part of the union's activities to support and qualify youth and shed light on the humanitarian situation in Yemen to study and review it, especially in light of the difficult conditions faced by the Yemeni people."

"The violence and armed conflicts is one of the issues that would be dealt in the course because these are strongly affect the structure of society fabric, especially women, who are the most affected by the outcome of these conflicts and wars," she said.
