MAREB, Sep. 13 (Saba) - The army and popular committees repelled on Sunday an attack by al-Qaeda elements and mercenaries of the Saudi aggression in Mareb province.

The al-Qaeda and mercenaries of the Saudi aggression launched an attack backed by Apache helicopters and UAE and Saudi armored vehicles on al-Jafina area, southern Mareb city, a military official said.

The heroes of the army and popular committees repelled the attack and killed and captured many of the mercenaries, he said, stressing nine armored vehicles were destroyed.
