LAHJ, Aug. 04 (Saba) - The clashes between the army and mercenaries of Riyadh are still underway in an area so far from al-Anad Air Base, a military official said Tuesday.

The mercenaries of Riyadh and al-Qaeda elements tried to advance from the southern area of al-Anad, he said.

"The heroes of the army and popular committees managed to repel them," he said. "Many of them were killed, including Anis Hussein al-Jaberi, the leader of the so-called expatriate battalion coming from Saudi Arabia.

The official said 11 of the attackers were captured and many of their armored vehicles were burned.
