Sana’a… Conclusion of second training workshop for correctional facility staff

Sana’a – Saba:
The Rehabilitation and Correction Authority at the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights concluded on Friday the second training workshop for 80 staff members from central correctional facilities and pretrial detention centers in the Capital Municipality and several governorates.
Over the course of three days, participants received training on inspection and guarding procedures, prison security, humane treatment, respect for inmates’ rights, and all measures aimed at achieving the desired goals of rehabilitation and reform.
At the closing ceremony, the Head of the Authority, Major General Ismail Al-Mu’ayyad, emphasized the importance of creating a safe environment and implementing comprehensive rehabilitation programs within prisons to support inmates’ reform.
Al-Mu’ayyad stressed the importance of teamwork, adherence to duties and legal regulations, improved performance, and treating inmates humanely as a fundamental principle of the reform process.
For his part, Deputy Head of the Authority, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Farran, urged participants to apply what they had learned in the field, comply with laws and regulations governing their work, and work with team spirit to safeguard the security of prisons and inmates.
The closing event also included guidance remarks from the Director General of Internal Affairs, Colonel Yahya Al-Suwwadi; Deputy Director General of Human Resources, Colonel Abdullah Al-Hawri; and the Authority’s security and systems officers, Major Mohammed Rukn, Major Abdulwahab Atif, and Hani Al-Qurmani, in addition to educational contributions by Nabil Al-Badawi, Ali Al-Farran, and several lecturers.
The remarks highlighted methods for managing correctional facilities and prisons, the importance of adhering to legal and humanitarian standards, and the need to provide educational, rehabilitative, and healthcare services for inmates in a way that supports their reintegration into society and preserves their human dignity.
