Taiz - Saba:
Taiz Governorate commemorated on Sunday the martyrdom of Imam Zaid bin Ali (AS) with a march and speeches under the slogan "Insight and Jihad."
The march was attended by Shura Council member Mahmoud Bajash, Deputy Governor Qanaf Al-Sufi, Mobilization Official Mohammed Al-Khulaidi, Social Affairs Official Hames Al-Habari, as well as local, executive, military, and security leaders, alongside social figures.
In a speech on behalf of the local authority, Director General of Training and Rehabilitation Hashem Al-Adib stated that Imam Zaid emerged at a time when the Islamic Ummah was suffering under tyranny and oppression. He highlighted the crimes committed by the Umayyads, who distorted the values and principles of Islam, mixed truth with falsehood, and violated sacred principles.
Al-Adib emphasized that history has exposed the massacres, brutality, and religious negligence of the Umayyads, prompting Imam Zaid to rise against them, declaring his famous stance: "By Allah, I will not remain silent while the Book of Allah is abandoned."
He urged a return to the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH), calling for jihad against oppressors and the defense of the oppressed. Al-Adib noted that the month of Muharram witnessed two tragedies: the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) on the 10th of Muharram, 61 AH, followed by the martyrdom of his grandson, Imam Zaid (AS), on the 25th of Muharram, 122 AH.
He affirmed that the revolutions of Imam Hussein and Imam Zaid succeeded in dismantling the legitimacy of tyrannical regimes and exposing the deceit of those conspiring against freedom, truth, and justice.
Scholars’ Speech:
Member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, Al-Allama Taher Al-Haddar, delivered a speech reviewing the revolutionary path of Imam Zaid bin Ali (AS). He highlighted Imam Zaid’s role in breaking injustice and tyranny, noting that Sunni scholars acknowledged his high status as "the ally of the Quran" and emphasized the importance of his writings for Islamic scholars.
Al-Haddar warned that when scholars deviate, they lead the Ummah into decline, attributing today’s weakness to corrupt scholars and court clerics who fear not Allah.
Cultural Activist’s Speech:
Cultural activist Adnan Al-Sawadi stated that Imam Zaid’s jihad, uprising, and martyrdom played a vital role in preserving authentic Muhammadan Islam in thought, culture, and revolution against tyranny. He stressed that Imam Zaid’s movement was distinguished by its connection to a great Islamic symbol, uniting the Ummah across sects.
Al-Sawadi emphasized the revolution’s goal of restoring the Ummah to the true Islamic path, from which the Umayyad tyrants had deviated.
