Moscow - Saba:
Sputnik news agency reported, citing a source in the Russian negotiation team, that Ukraine has proposed holding a new round of talks next week.
According to the Russian source, as quoted by Sputnik, Russia is ready to hold talks with Ukraine and hopes to set a date soon with Kyiv.
Sputnik noted that this comes following a statement by Volodymyr Zelensky, in which he said that National Security Minister Rustem Umerov proposed a meeting with Russia.
Russia and Ukraine have previously held two rounds of direct talks in Istanbul, which resulted in a prisoner exchange and Moscow handing over the bodies of fallen soldiers to the Kyiv regime.
In addition, both sides exchanged draft memorandums of understanding on resolving the conflict. However, a date for the third round has not yet been set, despite repeated announcements by Turkey and Russia of their readiness to hold it.
