Sana'a - Saba:
The Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, the Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shiban, and the Head of the Customs Authority, Engineer Adel Margham, inaugurated on Sunday the computer lab at Gamal Abdul Nasser High School for Outstanding Students, provided by the Customs Authority.

Minister of Education Al-Saadi emphasized the importance of the computer lab project, which includes 40 computers, as a significant step to support the school, which has proven worthy of attention—especially as it has produced, like previous years, a large number of top high school graduates this year.

"This school includes our students from all Yemeni regions, and we need to support it and all schools for outstanding students," he said, calling on the government sector and businessmen to contribute to providing the necessary attention to such schools, as they nurture the students who will build, develop, and advance the country.

Al-Saadi urged both the public and private sectors to take the initiative in supporting such projects, as the Customs Authority has done, expressing his gratitude to the Authority for its support.

During the inauguration, attended by Dhamar Governor Mohammed Al-Bukaiti, Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, and several businessmen, the Head of the Customs Authority, Engineer Margham, noted that the Authority had previously launched a social responsibility program, implementing several initiatives, including supporting the computer lab at Gamal Abdul Nasser High School with 40 computers.

He pointed out that today’s initiative aims to draw the attention of government entities and the private sector to the importance of supporting education, given its crucial role in achieving economic and social progress across all fields, ensuring the optimal use of educational outcomes.

Margham also highlighted several community initiatives implemented by the Authority in health and social fields, including support for shelters.

For his part, the Principal of Gamal Abdul Nasser High School for Outstanding Students, Dr. Mohammed Al-Qasimi, expressed his gratitude for this initiative by the Customs Authority, explaining that the computer lab will benefit 700 outstanding students and the administrative staff. The modern devices will enable students to learn various essential software and designs, including artificial intelligence.

He called on the government and private sectors to follow the Customs Authority’s example, driven by moral and social responsibility, to support the school, which selects outstanding students without favoritism or mediation and includes students from across the Republic.

Al-Qasimi clarified that computer science is a core subject from the first to the third year of high school.

Meanwhile, students at Gamal Abdul Nasser High School expressed their appreciation for the support provided to their school, reflecting the awareness and commitment to enhancing education and supporting students. They noted that the computer lab will enable them to apply their knowledge practically.
