Taiz - Saba:
Majid Al-Barqani, Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Taiz Governorate, and Mohammed Othman, Director of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities branch, inaugurated the 1447 AH academic year at Al-Amal Autism Center in the governorate.
During the inauguration, Al-Barqani and Othman, along with Salalah District Director Mohammed Al-Hashma, Executive Director of the Center Amal Al-Saqqaf, and Center Director Ahd Shawal, listened to an explanation from the Center’s Chairperson Samira Al-Basha about its various sections and activities aimed at supporting the abilities of children with autism and training their families on how to interact with them.
Al-Basha praised the efforts of Al-Amal Autism Center’s staff in serving children with autism, calling on relevant authorities, the private sector, organizations, institutions, and businessmen to contribute to supporting and caring for these children.
She also reviewed the center’s achievements since its establishment in 2009, highlighting its successes in helping children with autism through scientifically based plans and previous experiences aimed at integrating them into society.
During the event, Al-Barqani, Othman, and Al-Hashma commended the center’s role in providing diverse educational and rehabilitation services for individuals with special needs, both within and outside the city.
They noted that the center has received around 90 children, offering multiple services, including early intervention programs for ages 3 to 20, rehabilitation programs, multi-skill training, motor and cognitive development, self-care, social behavior modification, most importantly, social integration and community reintegration.
