Sana’a – SABA:
Minister of Culture and Tourism, Dr. Ali Al-Yafei, along with the Governor of Aden, Tariq Salam, visited the Sana’a Fine Arts Gallery today to view an exhibition of visual art reflecting Yemen’s civilizational heritage, its faith-based identity, and the central causes of the Arab and Islamic world—foremost among them, the Palestinian cause.
During their tour of the gallery, they explored a collection of paintings and artworks created by Yemeni artists, talents, and creatives. The pieces expressed emotional and artistic responses to national issues and broader regional concerns, particularly the suffering in Gaza and the atrocities committed by the Zionist enemy. The exhibition also highlighted Yemen’s principled stance in support of Palestine and its broader struggle against hegemonic powers.
Minister Al-Yafei emphasized the vital role of visual arts in conveying the core concerns of the nation, especially the Palestinian issue. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting visual arts through exhibitions, workshops, and training programs for school and university students interested in artistic expression.
He noted that the themes expressed in these creative works reinforce Yemen’s official and popular support for the Palestinian cause and strengthen its cultural resistance against global arrogance and oppression—particularly the U.S. and Israel.
Al-Yafei underlined that arts, theater, poetry, and visual expression are all essential fronts of cultural resistance and defense of national and pan-Arab causes.
For his part, Aden Governor Tariq Salam stressed the importance of visual art in documenting and expressing the realities of both Yemen and Palestine, especially the aggression and genocidal crimes being committed in Gaza. He noted that these artworks reflect the deep cultural awareness and national consciousness of Yemeni artists in relation to their homeland and the broader struggles of the Arab nation.
